Introductory Post

Hey everyone,
My name is Emily, and I'm a 19-year-old based out of Tennessee. I'm currently pursuing my BBA in Marketing. My boyfriend and I live together with our pet tarantula, and we're adding a pet snake to our family soon.
Over the past year, I've squandered away thousands of dollars on irrelevant and unnecessary things that have no lasting effect on me now. I used to go out for dinner with my boyfriend nearly every night to a nice sit-down restaurant. I got myself into major credit card debt, and I was constantly stressing over money. I recently got serious about saving money and taking advantage of all of the resources at hand, including some concepts and practices I didn't know about.
The purpose of my blog is to share my good and bad decisions I've made financially, and lend advice based on those experiences; however, I always welcome comments and criticisms, because I'm still learning how to successfully manage my money and credit.
To put things into perspective, over the last year I have paid off $5,000 in credit card debt, raised my credit score 100 points, and single-handedly leased my home. While I'm not a financial expert, I provide the perspective of the average teen: I work a retail job, I pay rent, and I go to college.

I'm looking forward to sharing my advice with my readers. You're all welcome to contact me or comment on posts with any questions you may have. Thank you for reading this ramble of an intro.

♥,
Emily
